you CAN..
take two 30gig, one in the drive bay and one in one of the ultrabays..

the clicking is, more or less, a normal phenomonon..
there is a cure but i forgot what it was.. :-)
try moving the swap file or change the location or size or defrag the
drive..
i've experienced this clicking on one or two T21's and an X20, but not on
any of the other numerous thinkpads here present now or in the recent past..
